I have been a donor for my son. He was born with poor kidney function and therefore received a post-mortem kidney at the age of 4.
The kidney stopped after 20 years. That's when I donated my kidney.
Sadly that was only a success for 6 years, so my daughter donated a kidney to him in March 2023.

It made me feel many different emotions. Unsure and sad when kidney function declined and happy when everything went well.

I think donation is a wonderful way to help others. If you find it difficult to make a choice, try to put yourself in the shoes of people on the waiting list.
